Playwright Rajib Moni Das Wins BCRC Excellence Award

Rajib Moni Das has been honored as the best playwright at the BCRC Excellence Award 2024. The award ceremony, organized by the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Council (BCRC), was held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in a grand event at the seminar hall of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). He received the award for best playwright.

At the event, the award for best playwright was handed over to Rajib Moni Das by the chief guest, Liberation War Affairs Minister A.K.M Mozammel Haque MP, and the special guest, Honorable Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Ahmed. The event was presided over by Ali Ashraf Akhund.

Rajib Moni Das has written approximately 150 single plays and 13 serial dramas to date. He has also written nearly 30 songs and and four novels – ‘Tahar Jonno Aar Kono ChintaNei’ (No More Worries for That), ‘Mr. Brain’, ‘Baba’ (Father), and ‘Ek Poshla Brishti’ (A Drizzle of Rain). Additionally, he has created and directed the concepts for more than 25 advertisements.

Regarding the honor, Rajib Moni Das said, “Culture plays a crucial role in changing the fundamental basis of a country. As a playwright, my endeavor is to convey messages through dramas that can bring about a change in societal mindset while providing entertainment. Even a small change is a significant achievement for me.”

He further added, “With our collective efforts, we can contribute to combating subculture through mediums such as drama, novels, and performances. We can provide a proper and enjoyable environment for the youth and adolescent society.”
